What An Incredible Year

Handled and trained at South Forty Farms, "Big Un" as we know him, is starting out the 2007 show season with a BANG!  At the UMH Carson Masters Show in Bowling Green Kentucky, Big Un took home 1st in UMH Open Classic Stallions, 2nd in Ladies Open Classic, and 2nd in 3 Year Old Stallions and Geldings Classic Pleasure.  At the RMHA Kentucky State 2 day Show, Big Un won first both days in 4 and under Open Conformation!

Big Un finished off the year better than ever, not only competing in the 2007 KMSHA International Championships (see stallion page for results), but also starting his work in versatility.  What other 3 Year Old Stallion can have a 10 year old rider (pictured on left, Morgan Stumbo) as the lead horse in a 10 horse, competely youth drill team (and yes...there were at least 5 mares on the team!!!)

Barn Babe Avery

Avery McGee Cole, daughter of Jason and Lacey Cole, debuted in her first horse show in Bowling Green, KY on March 30-31st.  Avery has grown in leaps and bounds this year, and now is a regular at the barn.  Usually you can find her in front of Amanda on whatever horse Amanda has chosen to work.  If it's "Spot", our 4 year old spotted mountain horse, she snuggles in close and starts her nap, if it's Big Un, the 3 Year Old Stallion, she leans back into Amanda to brace as she kisses and giggles while Big Un show gaits.

When kids are around the barn, Avery is the ever present source of entertainment, whether she's yelling from her toy car that she's stuck (coverall's and little tyke toys are not the easiest to work with!) or she's working with Amanda's blue heeler Boss, teaching him to "sit" and "stay", so she can already become a professional trainer someday soon...South Forty just wouldn't be the same without her!
