Welcome

I feel blessed each week to venture out to the barns to be able to help children discover the wonder and friendship that is inside each encounter with a horse.  It touches my heart to see kids discover confidence, strength, and courage through what they learn with horses.  I give all credit to the amazing horses that carry these children.  We have had so many amazing, gifted horses come into our program through purchase, or be raised in our program, "home grown" at South Forty, and they help these children grow.  These horses are each a member of my family, and each child that comes through the gates is a member of this farm.

I teach ages 3-16.  You don't have to live in Bowling Green, you don't have to have a horse.  We're here to accommodate all youth in their horse bound journey, and we'll try our hardest to make it possible no matter who you are, or where you're coming from.

Welcome to South Forty Farms.  Thanks, Amanda

We realize that there are lots of young people out there with hopes and dreams of becoming horseback riders, and we know that they spend their days with their noses pressed to the glass of the car window as they pass by farms where these beautiful animals live.  We at South Forty love to be able to fulfill these dreams and make miracles happen with the lesson program, however, at times, the lesson roster gets quite full and we have no room to bring in more students.

That's where our online list comes into play.  When we do have openings come available, our online list goes into action and we start making calls to get those dream orders fulfilled.  This list is sent directly to Amanda's e-mail and dated so that you not only reserve your spot, but you've actually recorded your date so that you can guarantee your spot in line.

Please fill out the information below to help Amanda learn more about you in order to make the perfect lesson match up.  Lessons are taught in pairs, and we try to get the best possible situation to make it the best possible situation for learning.

Please include your e-mail address so that Amanda can e-mail you to let you know that she received your Post.  Also, when lessons do become available, it's usually easier to contact parents through e-mail instead of trying to play phone tag.

I believe that the ability to ride horses is a gift that anyone can enjoy.  Whether you are riding for pleasure, trail riding, or competitive showing, I believe that it provides something for the heart and soul.  To ride safely, and correctly, however, is an ongoing task that takes hard work and dedication.  I would like to help you in your horse bound journey, and I'll provide whatever insight I can.

Horses are very interesting animals.  Some researchers will say that they cannot connect two different things together, and that they cannot remember beyond two or three seconds.  We, at South Forty Farms, feel that there is more to a horse than meets the eye.  Our horses each have qualities that are unique to them.  We work with each horse differently and strive to learn as much as we can about them.  They are not just four legged animals...but friends that we can develop a trust with.

Horses, just like humans, have bad days.  We learn to detect them as we tack them up and keep it in mind as we ride.  We have bad days too, and maybe our horses detect that as well, and keep it in minds as they work.  The important thing that keeps the bad days under control is to remember that we have entered into a friendship with horses.  That is what keeps the good days outnumbering the bad days.

We invite you to join us at South Forty Farms, and enjoy the experiences you'll encounter.  It's an experience you will never forget.
